Saving at home – Tuna filet in pistachio and sesame seeds crust


Recipe for fresh fish lovers, the tuna in pistachio and sesame crust is a recipe that is very easy to prepare and requires very little fat in cooking.

It is a bit more expensive than the recipes that I post daily, but believe me, it’s really worth it!

The tuna, in addition to being rich in Omega 3, is also very tasty.

The quality of the raw material is fundamental for the success of this dish; in a few steps you will be able to prepare a refined and delicious plate. The softness of the fresh tuna contrasts with the crispy crust and the yogurt sauce gives it a creaminess that your guests will surely appreciate.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 600 g fresh tuna filet – 3 tablespoons sesame seeds – 50 g unsalted pistachios – 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil – 3 tablespoons soy sauce – green pepper – 150 g Greek yogurt – 1 lemon – a bit of dill, or chives – salt


Please remember that before consuming fish that is not perfectly cooked or marinated, it is recommended to freeze it for at least 90 hours at -18 degrees in a home freezer.

Coarsely chop the pistachios and mix them in a dish with sesame seeds and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Pour the soy sauce into an oven dish and add two tablespoons of green peppercorns.

Leave the tuna to marinate while making the yogurt sauce: in a bowl, mix the lemon juice, the grated zest, a pinch of salt, pepper and dill and the yogurt. Leave aside.

Now sprinkle the tuna fillet with the prepared mix of sesame seeds and the pistachios:

Crush the sesame and pistachio and cover well with your hands so that it adheres well to the tuna fillet on all sides.

Heat the oil together with the soy sauce and green pepper in a non-stick pan.

Cook the tuna fillet 2 minutes per side, touching it as little as possible and taking care not to detach the crust. Place the tuna fillet in a pistachio and sesame crust on a plate, then slice it with a sharp knife.

The tuna must be red and tender. Serve with the yogurt sauce and salad.
