Saving at home – Pasta with broccoli


A first course easy and tasty ready in about half an hour; some instead of the shallot use garlic and replace the bacon with anchovies. Personally, I prefer the second one (the one with anchovies).

You can choose whether to make this recipe with the classic orecchiette (Southern pasta), the penne or the spaghetti.

Let’s start:

Ingredients for 4 people: 500 g penne (or other pasta if you prefer) – 450 g broccoli – 5 anchovies – grated parmesan cheese – 2 cloves of garlic – 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil – salt – chili powder


Wash the broccoli, cut the tops and leave them aside.

Boil plenty of salted water and pour the penne (or the pasta you have chosen). Meanwhile, in a pan, brown the garlic in the extra virgin olive oil. When the garlic has browned, remove it and pour the anchovies into the oil. Turn off the heat under the anchovies and set aside. Just before the end of cooking of the pasta (2- 3 minutes before), pour the broccoli into the water.

Keep some cooking water (one cup) aside.

Drain the pasta and pour it into a large bowl.

Dilute the anchovies with the cooking water that you have kept aside and then mix everything together.

Serve topped with the hot chili and the grated parmesan.
