HOW TO MAKE AN INFINITY SCARF FROM A RECYCLED SWEATER
Sweater to cut up (I recommend medium or larger) – Sewing tools – Sewing machine
Start by cutting the sweater into a tube by cutting across from armpit to armpit. Then cut the ribbing off of the bottom.
Cut the tube into a rectangle by cutting through one side seam.
Fold the rectangle if half lengthwise with right sides together. Sew the long side with a serger or a zigzag stitch.
Turn the tube right side out.
Line up the short ends with right sides together. You will be sewing the edges together, but you won’t be able to sew the entire seam.
Start at one spot and zigzag the edges together as far as you can go before it gets to close to where you started.
Pull the seam inside the infinity scarf. There will be a small hole still open.
Either handstitch or topstitch the hole closed. Hand stitching looks a lot nice, but topstitching is quicker.
You finished. You can wear it with one loop around your neck or you can wear it by doubling the loop around your neck.
