EVERY DAY: AN EASY – FAST – AND CHEAP – RECIPE THAT SUITS EVERYONE
These days I am proposing many artichoke based recipes since it’s their season now and I like them very much!
These puffs are really delicious and… easy to make.
Ingredients for 4 people: 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon baking powder -8 anchovies or anchovies in oil – 8 artichokes – 200 grams flour – Salt – 1 egg – 100 grams white cheese – q.b. oil for frying – 2.5 deciliters whole milk – 1 lemon
Start preparing the artichoke puffs by cleaning the artichokes. Take the artichokes, wash them under plenty of cold water and remove the hardest outer leaves. Remove the central hay with a knife. Take the artichokes and place them in a bowl with water and lemon juice to prevent them from darkening.
Take a pot with salted boiling water and cook the artichokes for 10 minutes. Drain and flip them on paper towels. In a bowl pour the milk, lemon juice, egg, yeast, baking soda and sifted flour. Add salt and stir until you have a creamy batter.
Take the cheese and cut it into small cubes. Arrange a little cheese in each artichoke with an anchovy fillet. Dip the artichoke in the batter and fry in plenty of hot oil for about 2 minutes per side.
