Today we will go for a project which might seem difficult, but in reality you just have to be careful with the measures and in assembling: a lampshade.
The nice thing about making your own lampshade is that you can decide if to use paper, fabric or other material and how to decorate it.
This lampshade has a diameter of 12 cm.
DIY N. 189
light cardstock or fabric – aluminum wire – hot glue – scissors – lace – other decrations (I used some beads)
Cut a rectangle 38 cm long (in reality the lampshade has a circumference of 37 cm, but you have to count 1 extra cm so to close it with glue.
Fold on the dotted lines. Insert the aluminum wires (2 x 37 cm long).
Cut two other pieces 26 cm long (this will be the lamp holder). You need to create a structure like the one below: count 6 cm and then fold to create a ring (about 7 cm High). Leave another 6 cm of wire.
Repeat and then join them together using a nut or with a ring made with aluminum wire.
Stick the structure on top of the lampshade with the two rings facing downwards (this is where you will insert your light bulb).
Now apply the decorations like the lace and pearls (or other material),
Your lampshade is ready!
