Saving at home – Barbecue sauce


Hi everyone!

The barbecue sauce will make your meat dinner even better.

This homemade version does not contain alcohol, so it is also suitable for children.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 300 g tomato puree – 25 g tomato paste – 1 clove garlic – 1 onion – 35 ml vinegar – 30 ml extra virgin olive oil – 30 g butter – 50 g mustard – 2 teaspoons tabasco – 3 tablespoons brown sugar – 1 tablespoon worcesteshire sauce – salt – chili


Start making your own homemade barbecue sauce starting with the onion. Remove the outer skin and chop very finely together with garlic.

Then move on the stove and inside a saucepan fry the garlic and onion with extra virgin olive oil for a couple of minutes. Add the butter and cook for a few more minutes. Then add the vinegar and let it evaporate completely.

Then add the tomato puree, tomato concentrate, mustard and tabasco and stir well. Then add sugar and vinegar and continue to stir constantly making it go over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

Only at this point you can also add the worcesterschire sauce, salt and a pinch of chili and continue cooking until your sauce has reached the right density and a more intense and dark color.

Blend everything so as to obtain a smooth and velvety sauce and at this point leave it aside to cool inside a bowl before serving it to your guests. 

In this way, in fact, all the flavors will blend perfectly and your bbq sauce will be ready to be used in many different ways.
