Saving at home – Coconut, almond and chocolate desserts


Hi everyone!

These coconut and almond sweets are different from the usual ones as we added some dark chocolate.

They are very simple to do and, as always, delicious.

Their soft texture will conquer everyone, young and old.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 100 g almond flour – 80 g coconut flour – 125 g powdered sugar – 1 egg white (about 60 g) – Dark chocolate q.b. (about 60 g)


In a bowl beat the egg white with sugar, then add the almond and coconut flour.

Make a homogeneous dough with the help of your hands and put it in the fridge. If the dough seems too dry and it crumbles, add another egg white. In the meantime, melt the chocolate in a bain-marie:

Fill a high-edged saucepan with half water and bring it to a light boil;

Chop the chocolate in a smaller pot.

Place the casserole on the saucepan, so that it is in contact with water but does not risk being submerged.

Wait for the chocolate to melt.

Line the plate with baking paper.

Take up the dough and create balls, helping you with two teaspoons or a sac à poche with the wide star hole; arrange the coconut and almond sweets on the plate. To make it easier to create the balls, let the dough rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, covered with a sheet of film.

Bake at 160 º C for about 15 minutes.

Remove the macaroons from the oven, then garnish them to taste with melted chocolate: for example, you can dip the bottom of the cakes and then create superficial lines, making the chocolate drip from the pot.

  1. !! To the grocery I go! I see we have no coconut. It looks to me there are coconut flakes adorning the outside edges. Che il vero? You had me at “macaroon.” Nice. Thank you. Are you sure the little balls were not finished-off rolling them in coconut flakes?
