Saving at home – Simple Mascarpone Cream

Are you looking for a good, nutritious snack? The recipe of the mascarpone cream is a simple recipe and needs only a few ingredients worked together: eggs, sugar and the Mascarpone (Italian cream cheese) to give a creamy and enveloping texture. A little cognac to flavor everything and the recipe is ready.  But if you are not a fan of alcohol or if you sometimes bring to the table a dessert suitable for even the youngest you can also aromatize the mascarpone cream with delicious fruit syrup.

This cream is very versatile and can be used in many dessert preparations: both to season fresh fruit (such as strawberries) and as a filling for tiramisu, the most famous of the Italian spoon desserts, or why not, the mascarpone cream is also great for stuffing cakes and perfect in combination with a soft sponge cake and it’s delicious even on its own… in short, is a recipe that is hard to give up.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 2 eggs – 4 tablespoons sugar – 250g Mascarpone – 2-3 tablespoons cognac (or fruit syrup)


Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks.

Work the egg yolks with the sugar until you get a light mixture with a foamy consistency.

At this point incorporate the Mascarpone and mix with the help of electric whips. The result should be a soft cream, the consistency of a mousse.

Add the two or three tablespoons of cognac, or fruit syrup, and stir well until you get a smooth cream and no lumps.

In another bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff.  Finally, add them to the mascarpone cream, stirring gently from bottom to top to ensure that the mixture does not lose its soft texture.   Your simple mascarpone cream is ready!
