2 ways to solve :
#1 : 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 :
A little bit of time consuming , you divide the polynomial by each and check what’s the result.
#2: 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗺 :
The remainder theorem tells that
If a polynomial 𝘧(𝘹) is divided by (𝘹+𝘢) the remainder is 𝘧(-𝘢) where 𝘧(𝘣) is a function of b.
𝘈𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘮 , 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘧.
Here,
𝘧(𝘹) = 2𝘹³ – 3𝘹² – 11𝘹 + 6.
𝘧(𝘹) 𝘮𝘰𝘥 (𝘹+𝘢) =2(-𝘢) ³ – 3(-𝘢) ² – 11(-𝘢) + 6.
Calculating, we get that 𝘧(3)= 0.
Thus the factor is (x-3).
