Who says that making homemade jam is difficult? Today we will try to make the classic recipe, that is with sugar.

The kiwi jam, in addition to being tasty and different from the usual jams, is also very easy to prepare; once ready you can enjoy it for breakfast, spread it on bread, or use it for filling cakes, Tarts and biscuits, but it is also good to eat with cheese.

The right time to make it is autumn, when the kiwis come to full maturity, but if you prepare it in large quantities at a time, you can put it in jars (strictly sterilized) and enjoy it all year round.

Let’s start:

KIWI JAM (CLASSIC RECIPE, WITH SUGAR)

Ingredients for 4 people: 1 kg kiwi – 500 g sugar – juice of 2 lemons

Preparation:

Peel the kiwis, cut into pieces not too big, removing the white inside, and place in a pot with sugar and juice of the 2 lemons.  Mix all the ingredients, cover and let stand for at least 5 hours or overnight.

Once this time has passed, place the pot on the fire and boil, cooking for 10 minutes. Then continue cooking over a low heat for about 40 minutes, stirring often with a wooden spoon.

To see if the jam is ready, pour a teaspoon of jam on a cold saucer and tilt it, if the jam adheres without slipping, then it means that it is ready.

Pour the hot jam into sterilized and dry jars. Close them well and turn them upside down until they are completely cooled. Then store the jars in a dark and dry place.

Do not worry if the jam should have a rather dark color; being prepared at home it’s completely natural and it doesn’t contain additives!
