Saving at home – Chocolate salami (original recipe)

Chocolate salami is a delicious dessert that is prepared in no time and without an oven.

The preparation of this dessert is quite easy, at least as regards the dough, while the shape requires a minimum of preparation, so that once cooled it does not crumble.

Warning … once you start with a slice you will no longer be able to stop eating it.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 300 gr of Digestive biscuits – 150 gr of butter – 200 gr of dark chocolate – 2 eggs – 100 gr of sugar – icing sugar to taste


Coarsely crumble the biscuits. It is important that this procedure is done with the hands and not with the blender, as the pieces must be felt inside the salami.

Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler. While the chocolate is melting, whip the butter (which must be quite soft), so that you can work it with a silicone spatula.

Add the sugar and then the eggs. Mix well until you get a smooth and homogeneous cream.

Add the melted chocolate (after it has cooled down a bit) to the mixture of butter and eggs.

Mix until the chocolate salami mixture becomes perfectly homogeneous, then add the chopped biscuits and mix again.

Place the mixture on a sheet of baking paper and try to give it a cylindrical shape as regular as possible, using your hands and a spatula. After giving the cylindrical shape, roll it up in the parchment paper.

Squeeze the ends well and then roll it up in the same way in aluminum foil.

Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. Once it has hardened, take it out of the fridge, remove the aluminum and baking paper and roll it in icing sugar.

Serve the chocolate salami in slices, just like a real salami.

To make this dessert even richer and tastier, you can add chopped hazelnuts and / or candied fruit, eliminating the corresponding weight of biscuits.
