Nowadays we speak so much about recycling. In today’s DIY we will see how you can make beautiful flower paper with old paper and flowers. You can use paper from old envelopes or other scraps that you have at home.
This will be also a great way for creating your own greeting cards for Christmas.
Let’s get started!!!
DIY N. 318
RECYCLED FLOWER PAPER
scraps of paper – water – Deckle and mould (if you don’t have one, you can create it easily with two picture frames and a screen filter) – flowers cut in small pieces
First of all reduce the paper in tiny pieces. Place it in water and let it soak for about an hour.
After soaking, put it in the mixer.
Place again in a large container and add the flowers. Immerge the deckleand mould. Gather the paper in the filter and take it out keeping the filter horizontal.
You may think that making a body lotion is another impossible feat, but in reality a few ingredients and an old empty jar are enough.
Of course, this too, by removing the label, could become a nice gift idea.

DIY N. 304
ALOE BODY LOTION DIY ALOE
1 cup aloe vera gel – 1 teaspoon + 1 teaspoon beeswax tablets – 1/2 cup almond oil or jojoba oil (or any other liquid oil) – 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil (optional) – 1 teaspoon shea butter (optional) – essential oils of your choice – I like 10 drops of geranium and 5 drops of lime
Add almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter or cocoa (if you like), in a bowl and heat it in a bain–marie pot.
Stir occasionally as the ingredients melt.
When all the ingredients are completely dissolved, add vitamin E oil (optional) and all the essential oils or fragrances such as vanilla.
Pour into a glass or tin jar for storage. Small jars of old creams will be perfect for this DIY project.
Use as you would with any other lotion. This lotion is ultra-moisturizing and more oily than water-based lotions so you won’t need to use as much.
It also has a longer life than some homemade lotion recipes since all the ingredients are already stable and without need to add water.
Use within 6 months for the best moisturizing benefits.
Your body lotion is ready.
Just add a label and some decoration to use it as a gift.
Place your beeswax and sweet almond oil in a glass cup and microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Beeswax can be a bit hard to find. You can always grab some on Amazon if you have trouble finding some locally.
Stir in your peppermint essential oil (or other essence you like), and a small piece of your favorite lipstick until melted (or food coloring).
Carefully pour the hot mixture into small beauty containers (I used small mason jars) and let set for about 30 minutes.
