DIY (318) – Recycled flower paper

Hi everyone!!!!

Nowadays we speak so much about recycling. In today’s DIY we will see how you can make beautiful flower paper with old paper and flowers. You can use paper from old envelopes or other scraps that you have at home.

This will be also a great way for creating your own greeting cards for Christmas.

Let’s get started!!!

DIY N. 318

RECYCLED FLOWER PAPER

material:

scraps of paper – water – Deckle and mould (if you don’t have one, you can create it easily with two picture frames and a screen filter) – flowers cut in small pieces

First of all reduce the paper in tiny pieces. Place it in water and let it soak for about an hour.

After soaking, put it in the mixer.

Place again in a large container and add the flowers. Immerge the deckle and mould. Gather the paper in the filter and take it out keeping the filter horizontal.

Place it on a towel and let it dry.

Your recycled flower paper is ready!

DIY (314) – Christmas chocolates

Hi everyone!!!!

Here’s an idea for chocolate lovers.

A little different idea than usual to give sweets for Christmas. Just cover your tablets with labels made by you, maybe customized.

If you don’t have time, you can buy them ready (adhesive); online if you find several.

Let’s get started!!!

DIY N. 314

All you have to do is create your own labels and wrap up your chocolate bars.

And here your Christmas chocolates are ready for Christmas!

If you don’t want to add lettering, you can also cover the tablets with some special gift paper (with glitter), and add decorations.

DIY (304) –  gift ideas: aloe body lotion

Hi everyone!!!!

You may think that making a body lotion is another impossible feat, but in reality a few ingredients and an old empty jar are enough.

Of course, this too, by removing the label, could become a nice gift idea.

Let’s get started!!!

DIY N. 304

ALOE BODY LOTION DIY ALOE

material:

1 cup aloe vera gel – 1 teaspoon + 1 teaspoon beeswax tablets – 1/2 cup almond oil or jojoba oil (or any other liquid oil) – 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil (optional) – 1 teaspoon shea butter (optional) – essential oils of your choice – I like 10 drops of geranium and 5 drops of lime

Add almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter or cocoa (if you like), in a bowl and heat it in a bainmarie pot.

Stir occasionally as the ingredients melt.

When all the ingredients are completely dissolved, add vitamin E oil (optional) and all the essential oils or fragrances such as vanilla.

Pour into a glass or tin jar for storage.  Small jars of old creams will be perfect for this DIY project.

Use as you would with any other lotion.  This lotion is ultra-moisturizing and more oily than water-based lotions so you won’t need to use as much.

It also has a longer life than some homemade lotion recipes since all the ingredients are already stable and without need to add water.

Use within 6 months for the best moisturizing benefits.

Your body lotion is ready.

Just add a label and some decoration to use it as a gift.

DIY (303) – Gift ideas: scented lip balm

Hi everyone!!!!

Are you looking for an original gift? With only 3 ingredients you will create the base lip balm recipe:  beeswax, almond oil, and essential oils.

You can add any color you want or no color at all.  Peppermint oil is a different flavor, but feel free to add any scent you prefer such as orange essential oils or lavender too.

You can experiment a bit and come up with your own combination by adding a few different essential oil blends too.

Let’s get started!!!

DIY N. 303

GIFT IDEA: SCENTED LIP BALM

material:

1 tablespoon natural beeswax pastilles – 2 tablespoon organic sweet almond oil – 2-3 drop therapeutic grade organic peppermint (or other) essential oil – small glass jars – wooden spoon for stirring – food coloring

Place your beeswax and sweet almond oil in a glass cup and microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.  Beeswax can be a bit hard to find.  You can always grab some on Amazon if you have trouble finding some locally.

Stir in your peppermint essential oil (or other essence you like), and a small piece of your favorite lipstick until melted (or food coloring).

Carefully pour the hot mixture into small beauty containers (I used small mason jars) and let set for about 30 minutes.

Your lip balm is ready!
