DIY (312) – Dried apples with cinnamon

Hi everyone!!!!

Today I propose you to prepare these delicious dried apples… I know, we are not in the post of lowcost recipes, but I put it in the gifts because you just insert them in a glass jar decorated with ribbons or simple paper or fabric to get a gift that everyone will love!!!

For this gift idea, you will only need to calculate the drying time of the apples.

If you do not have a dryer, you can safely use the oven.

Let’s get started!!!

DIY N. 312

3 apples – juice of 2 lemons – cinnamon powder to taste – cinnamon sticks (optional)

Squeeze the lemons and collect the juice in a small bowl.

Wash the apples, dry and cut them in half: remove the core and cut into slices of 3-4 mm thick. If you have the core lever tool, I suggest you use it so you don’t have to cut the apple in half. Pass each slice in the lemon juice and place it in the dryer basket covered with parchment paper (if you do not have the dryer, you can safely use the oven, resting the apples on parchment paper). Continue until the apples are finished.

Sprinkle the apple slices with cinnamon powder to taste then put the baskets in the essiccator and operate at a temperature between 45° and 50° C. Let the apples dry for 16-18 hours, or otherwise until complete dehydration.

Once ready, let them cool and store in a glass jar with hermetic closure together with cinnamon sticks.

Add some colored ribbons and your gift is ready

I hope you enjoyed also today’s creative idea.
