Here is a way to recycle old toys: a beautiful toothbrush holder that will make your kids very happy.

DINOSAUR TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER

material:

Old toys (in this case a dinosaur, in which you can easily make a hole in) – drill (for making the hole)

Select an old toy that you would like to be transformed into a toothbrush holder. In the picture you can see a dinosaur, in this case not too small, in order to be able to host two toothbrushes.

I suggest that you use toys made out of rubber because it is easier to make a hole.

Your toothbrush holder is ready!!!!

DIY (282) – Wool heart wreath decorations

Hi everyone!!!!

Here we are with another great recycling project!!

All you need here is cardboard and some yarn.

Let’s get started!!!

WOOL HEART WREATH DECORATIONS

material

Colored yarn – cardboard – scissors

All you need to do here is draw hearts of the size you desire in ordinary cardboard and cuth them out.

Draw a smaller heart in the shape and cut it out.

Take the yarn and make it go through the border (the first time make a knot so that it will stay together).

Go on until the full heart shape is covered with the yarn. Make a final knot and make a ring so that you will be able to hang it.

Your yarn heart is ready!!!

DIY (281) – Tissue flowers

Hi everyone!!!!

Don’t you find these flowers adorable?

You will need just some kleenex, a bit of watercolor (or diluted acrylic color) and aluminum wire to make them. If you follow the video tutorial it will take you minutes to make a full pot.

Let’s get started!!!

TISSUE FLOWERS

material

Kleenex tissues – aluminum wire – green ribbon – watercolors – vase

Open up your kleenex and separate all the layers (it has to be very thin).

Pile them up again and divide in six parts.

Fold the klenex as an accordion and place the top of the aluminum wire in the center and tighten forming a ring. Fold to make the stem and cut the length you prefer.

Open up the flower and cover the aluminum wire with green ribbon.

Prepare a pink watercolor and apply it in the middle of the flower.

With the scissors trim the flower.

Proceed in the same manner for the other flowers.

Your tissue flowers are ready!

DIY (279) – Cardboard village houses

Hi everyone!!!!

How about these houses made out of cardboard to create a Christmas village.

It’s an activity that for sure also your kids will like and, with the template below you will create it in a very short time.

Also for this project you can use recycled cardboard.

material

CARDBOARD – glue – scissors – candles (electric) – template (below)

Start by printing the template in the desired size.

Cut out the borders and copy on the cardboard.

Copy also the dotted lines, which indicate where to fold.

Glue together by joining the tabs.

Glue the house to the base and insert the candle (for safety reasons it’s better to use electric candles.

Your Christmas house is ready! To create different houses you will need to change the windows on the template.

DIY (278) – Crayola candle

glass or mason jar – crayolas – wax for candles – candle stopper

First of all place a candle stopper at the base of your glass or mason jar.

Place some crayolas as you like.

Melt the transparent candle wax and pour over the pastels. Let it dry before use.

Your colored candle is ready!

Ypu can do them with colored cardstock or recycled cardboard.

cardstock – scissors – baking paper – template (below) – electric candles – glue

Print the templates below in the desired size.

Cut on the continuous lines and fold on the dotted ones,

Cut the baking paper in the size of the front panel and place it behind the windows.

Put the candles (for safety reasons I suggest to use electric ones) behind the houses.

For a more festive look you can decorate them with fake snow, stars or glitter.

Your dutch houses luminaires are ready!

Hi everyone!!!!

Here we go with another super simple diy that you can use to decorate your house: a candle holder.

You will just need to make a mask (cutting the shape of a heart on a piece of paper and sticking it on the jar).

material

MASON jars – colored ribbon or twine – black and white acrylic color

Apply the mask on the mason jar (in this case a heart, but you can choose any other shape).

Color around it with the black acrylic color (you can use also a black paint that can be used as a chalk board, which you can decorate with messages).

Using a very thin brush, draw the lines around the heart (in white in the picture but you can choose among so many colors!)

Your candle holder is ready!

MASON jars – plastic dispenser (you can find them in almost all diy stores) – hot glue

Take the cap of a mason jar and make a hole of the size of the plastic dispenser.

Insert the plastic part and stick together with hot glue.

Your soap dispenser is ready!

I don’t know about you, but there’s a lot of Nutella jars at home and I often throw them away because I don’t know what to do with them.

Today we will see how to recycle them to create a very nice pencil holder.

NUTELLA JARS RECYCLE 1: PENCIL HOLDER

material:

Nutella jars – acrylic color – cutter

Once you have cleaned your jars, paint them with acrylics (in the photos in white, but you can choose the color you prefer).

With the cutter, cut the top of the lid, being very careful not to hurt yourself.

Screw what’s left of the lid onto the dry jar.

Your pencil holder is ready!
