DIY (07) – Centerpiece made with a vinyl record

Here we are again with a project to recycle vinyl records.

Today we will see how to make a beautiful and original centerpiece

Let’s start!

DIY N. 07

vinyl record – preheated oven to 160° C – a terracotta vase (or other material that can go in the oven) – pot with a diameter slightly larger than the vase

Place the pot upside down in the preheated oven at 160 º and place the disc on top of it, (as centered as possible).

Close the oven.

Leave in the oven for about ten minutes, (for some thicker discs it may take longer).

When you see that the disc begins to bend and take shape, open the oven and place over a small pot.

If you want a broader centerpiece you can omit this last step.

Close and turn off the oven.

Let it cool. When the centerpiece has cooled, take it out of the oven.

Your centerpiece is ready.

In a few steps you will get beautiful bookends.

DIY N. 06

two vinyl discs – hot water – baking tray

Place a vinyl in a baking pan filled with hot water, letting only one half in contact with the heat, until it takes the shape you like (should form an angle of 90 degrees).

Use a support – such as a wooden chopping board, for example – for folding.

Be careful not to burn your fingers. Repeat with the second vinyl.
