Saving at home – Biscuits filled with Nutella


Hi everyone!

If you don’t like Nutella, this recipe is not for you… Bad joke, I haven’t met anyone who said that to me yet.

However, you can also replace the filling with jam.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 400 g flour – 100 g butter – 120 g sugar – 1 egg + 3 egg yolks – 1 lemon – 1 sachet of baking powder – icing sugar q.b. – Nutella or jam q.b. – cookie molds


The most important part of this recipe is the shortbread: to prepare it you must first of all put the flour on a previously floured pastry board, then add the sugar, the grated lemon zest, baking powder, butter (left to soften at room temperature) and the eggs. Once all the ingredients are together, mix everything very quickly with the tips of your fingers until you get a homogeneous and lump-free dough.

Once you have obtained the pastry for your filled biscuits, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator and rest for at least 30 minutes, then resume and spread it on a pastry board with the help of a rolling pin. The pastry should be about 3 mm thick and once it is ready you can start to form your filled biscuits.

To be more comfortable, I recommend you to put the pastry sheet directly on the baking pan covered with parchment paper: take the biscuits shapes or even a glass and start to form many cookies. Consider that each cookie will be formed by 2 circles of dough, so the only care you need to have is to make them in even numbers.

Then divide your dough circles into 2 groups and put a group aside: on the others put one teaspoon of Nutella in the center, then close with the empty dough circles and make sure that the edges are well sealed, to prevent the filling from coming out.

Once you have finished filling all your filled biscuits, bake them at 180 º C. for 10 minutes, then let them cool and sprinkle with icing sugar. Et voilà: your Nutella filled cookies are ready to be enjoyed!
