Saving at home – Custard


Hi everyone!

There are recipes that you can not do without in the kitchen; one of these is the custard, practical to fill desserts or to create a base on fruit tarts, but also to enjoy alone or with the addition of chocolate.

Let’s start:


Ingredients for 4 people: 4 yolks – 100 g of sugar – 1/2 l whole fresh milk – 30 g of flour – 1 sachet of vanillin or the peel of an untreated lemon


Using a wooden spoon, work the egg yolks with the sugar in a saucepan.

Gradually add the flour, without stopping stirring until the mixture is mixed.
Pour a little at a time, and always turning, the boiling milk in which you have put a little vanilla or a little grated lemon peel.

Put on the heat, continue to mix, simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Remove it from the heat no later than this time (the temperature should be at most 82 ºC).

In this way you will get a smooth and odorless cream (without the smell of cooked egg).

Pour it into a bowl and let it cool, turning it from time to time, to prevent the film from forming on the surface of the custard.
